Verified housing for Howard students. Subleases, roommates, and group leases — in one trusted place.

Why we built this

Finding housing near Howard is harder than it should be. Listings are scattered across Facebook groups, GroupMe chats, and flyers on campus bulletin boards. There's no easy way to know if a listing is real, or if the person behind it actually goes to Howard.

Cosign fixes that. Every listing is posted by a verified Howard affiliate. Every message goes directly between students — no middlemen, no sketchy third-party sites, no Facebook group chaos.

How verification works

Sign up with your US phone number. Then verify your Howard affiliation one of two ways:

  1. 1. Howard email — We send a magic link to your @bison.howard.edu or @howard.edu address. Click it and you're verified instantly.
  2. 2. Student ID — Upload a photo of your Howard ID. An admin reviews it within one business day.

Only verified affiliates can post listings or message other students. Anyone can browse.

Who built it

Cosign was built by a Computer Science student at Howard University (Class of '27). It started as a solution to a problem he ran into personally and turned into something he hopes the whole Howard community can use.

Current status

Cosign is in pre-launch. The full platform opens to Howard students in August 2026, timed with the start of the academic year lease-signing wave. Join the waitlist to be notified when it goes live.
